Do you want to see the worst parking in the Bay Area? Or maybe you are willing to pay a 99 dollar fine and just park illegally? If yes, you should, on a sunny Saturday morning, visit Muir Woods!
Muir Woods is a beautiful redwood forest, located about 40 minutes car drive from our house. Dean and I visited while I was still pregnant, and this time we brought my parents, who, unfortunately, are flying back to Poland in a week! I feel that they enjoyed their time in sunny California, read a lot on our patio, and took many strolls with their beloved granddaughter.
After driving through many windy roads, which made me instantly nauseous, we arrived at the entrance to Muir Woods. It quicky turned out that we weren’t the only ones who had the idea to cool off in the forest. The parking lot was filled to the brim, and there was no street parking anywhere. Luckily the GPS quickly showed the way to the adjacent Muir Beach, which I really wanted to see. It was a beautiful beach by the Pacific Ocean with cool air and an instant hit!
After a short walk we went to the Pelican Inn, a English style pub, recommended by my friend from Italy. We ate delicious food, while discussing the upcoming June referendum concerning whether British will remain in the European Union. June will also be a politically hot month in California, due to the upcoming primaries.
On the way back from Muir Beach, we again tried to find a place to park. Unfortunately we did not succeed. Muir Woods will have to wait until next time! Take a look at the video from our trip!
