Rose’s Baptism in Berkeley

No Comments on Rose’s Baptism in Berkeley

The little Devil is officially gone! On Sunday 17th of April 2016 our Rose was baptised in the Dominican St Mary Magdalen Church in Berkeley. Our preparations included filling out a form and attending a baptismal class. There was no problem with us not having a church wedding, and the sacrament of reconciliation was a pleasent talk and not a awkward investigation into my personal life, as I previously experienced in Poland.

Rose wore a Kracow outfit with special accessories brought in person from Poland!

The ceremony was very joyful. However I need to excel my knowledge of English prayers! Rosie did not cry at all, even when when the holy water was poured on her head.

After the ceremony, we were hosting our family and friends at our house.

There was also a baptismal pre-birthday cake!

After all of the emotions, me and my Mom took Rose for a walk.

It was a really beautiful day! We were very happy that despite the fact we have just moved to Berkeley, we were accompanied by friends, whom we have met recently (for example during the sing-along at the library or at the baptismal class in the church), or whom Dean or I know for many years!(Thank you Krystyna, Lance, Basia, Dobromir for being with us!).

Another step of living in the USA is now behind me. I often wonder how did it happen, that I am already baptising my daughter with an American husband, who is not Catholic, and I am throwing a party in my house adjacent to San Francisco! I can only have faith and keep my fingers crossed for our future together!

PS.  In a spare moment, take a look at new Ciekawostki.
